A few years ago I started my holiday show season by participating as a vendor in a fundraising event for Elyssa’s Mission (a non-profit organization that provides educational programs for the prevention of teen suicide).  Participating in that event helped me to support their fundraising efforts, give back to the community and stay focused on what the season is really all about.

I found myself sharing with friends and family how much I loved being a part of their fundraising efforts at the start of the holiday season.  Then I started to wonder why I was waiting until the last few months of every year to feel good about what I was doing. So in 2016 I decided to support a different non-profit one month of each quarter and have Monograms Make a Difference.  In each designated month, 10% of the total cost of all monograms ordered is donated to the non-profit assigned to that month.

March 2016 was the kick-off month with, you guessed it, Elyssa’s Mission.  June was connected to Women’s Exchange, October was Misericordia and November was The Winnetka Club and Kindness Connection.  The program is still ongoing with donations being made to several other non-profits that support our surroudning communitites.

I love what I do!  I am not an artist by any means but I love to create!  While I realize that creating monograms each day does not change the world, my hope is that in some small way this program can have a positive effect on as many people as possible.  Monograms CAN Make a Difference!
